This will be the new home for the history of the 3rd Infantry Regiment of Wisconsin Veteran Volunteers, which served galantly during the American Civil War from 1861 to 1865. This regiment is unique in that it fought both in the eastern and western theaters of the war during its service.
This site has been established to replace the old website that I created back in 2000 and I will work harder to add as much information about the regiment and its men as I can locate. Nearly all of the information contained on this site will be taken from the writings of the original members of this regiment; including Edwin E. Bryant, Julian W. Hinkley and William F. Goodhue.
I will be gladly accepting any and all additional information concerning this regiment and hope that its decendants will glady share their ancestors biographies, writings, diaries and images.
But for now, please forgive the lack of content. This is a new site and it will take some time to compile the vast amount of historic information about this fascinating Wisconsin regiment.
